Soften frown lines, often called 11 lines or glabellar lines, created by repeated contraction of the muscles between the eyebrows.

Reduce lateral orbital lines created by orbicularis oculi activity.

Strategic treatment can alter the balance between brow depressors and elevators to create a subtle improvement in brow position.

Selected patients may benefit from conservative treatment of lower orbicularis oculi activity when muscle movement contributes to under-eye lines or a jelly roll.

Reduce lines created along the nasal sidewalls during facial expression.

Reduce selected orbicularis oris activity to subtly alter upper-lip movement without adding filler volume.

Reduce selected upper-lip elevator activity to decrease excessive gum display when smiling in appropriately selected patients.
Downturned Mouth
Reduce selected depressor anguli oris (DAO) activity when downward muscle pull contributes to downturned corners of the mouth.
Dimpled + Pebble Chin
Reduce mentalis activity contributing to chin dimpling or a pebbled chin appearance.
Neck Bands + Jawline
Reduce selected platysma activity when visible neck bands or downward muscular pull contribute to the appearance of the neck or jawline.
Jaw Slimming
Reduce masseter activity in selected patients when enlarged jaw muscles contribute to a wider or more square lower-face appearance.
Jaw Clenching + TMJ Symptoms
In selected patients, treatment of overactive masseter muscles may help reduce jaw clenching, grinding and muscle-related jaw tension. Evaluation is important because TMJ symptoms can have multiple causes.
Nose Tip + Nasal Movement
Selected nasal muscles may be treated when muscular movement contributes to nose-tip position, nasal movement or the patient's concern.

The number of units is not the goal.
Two patients of the same age can require completely different treatment because muscle strength, forehead height, brow position, facial proportions, sex, prior treatment and desired movement all differ.

Some patients want considerable movement preserved. Others prefer stronger relaxation. Treatment intensity can be tailored accordingly.
Facial Balance
Treating one muscle can change the forces acting against another. Brow position, forehead treatment and lower-face treatment should therefore be planned rather than treated in isolation.
Long-Term Strategy
Wrinkle relaxers address muscle activity. They do not replace treatment for pigmentation, skin texture, volume loss, laxity or collagen decline.
Neuromodulators can also reduce excessive sweating.
Botulinum toxin is not used only for facial expression lines. It can also temporarily reduce excessive sweating by interrupting acetylcholine signaling to eccrine sweat glands.
At Bolus, neuromodulator treatment may be considered for hyperhidrosis involving areas such as the underarms, palms and soles of the feet.
Underarm hyperhidrosis is an FDA-approved indication for BOTOX in appropriately selected patients. Treatment of the palms and soles is off-label and involves different comfort and risk considerations.

What is a wrinkle relaxer?
Wrinkle relaxers are botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators used to temporarily reduce selected muscle activity. Common brands include Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport and Xeomin.
Will I look frozen?
Not necessarily. The degree of muscle relaxation depends on treatment area, dose, anatomy and patient preference. Many patients prefer some movement to remain, while others prefer a stronger effect.
How quickly do wrinkle relaxers work?
Initial changes commonly begin within several days, with the effect continuing to develop over approximately one to two weeks depending on the product and patient.
How long do results last?
Duration varies by patient, product, treatment area, dose and muscle strength. Many cosmetic treatments last approximately three to four months, although shorter and longer responses occur.
Which is better - Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport or Xeomin?
There is no single best neuromodulator for every patient. These products differ in formulation, unit measurement and individual response. Product selection should be based on the treatment objective and clinician-patient discussion.
Are Dysport units the same as Botox units?
No. Dysport uses a different unit measurement system and raw Dysport units should not be compared one-for-one with Botox, Jeuveau or Xeomin units.
Does treatment hurt?
Most facial neuromodulator treatments involve a series of small injections and are generally well tolerated. Temporary pinching, tenderness, redness or small bruises can occur.
Can I exercise afterward?
Aftercare recommendations are reviewed at treatment and can vary according to the procedure performed. Follow the instructions provided by your treating clinician.
Can wrinkle relaxers lift my brows?
Strategic treatment of selected brow-depressor muscles can create a subtle change in brow position in appropriate patients. It does not reproduce a surgical brow lift.
Can Botox make my lips larger?
No. A lip flip changes muscle movement and can subtly alter how the upper lip displays, but it does not add volume the way dermal filler does.
Can neuromodulators treat excessive sweating?
Yes. Botulinum toxin can temporarily reduce sweat production by interrupting acetylcholine signaling to sweat glands. BOTOX is FDA approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis inadequately managed with topical agents. Palmar and plantar treatment are off-label. What is TOX Access?
TOX Access is Bolus's neurotoxin-focused access program. The program is $25 per month and unlocks $10 per unit neurotoxin pricing according to current program terms.
The $25 monthly access fee does not apply toward the cost of neurotoxin treatment. A $150 minimum applies to each treatment visit.
Should I choose TOX Access or Private Client?
TOX Access is designed primarily for patients focused on neurotoxin. Patients investing more broadly across lasers, skin treatments, injectables and ongoing aesthetic care may receive greater value from the Private Client experience.
Do you offer Botox parties?
Bolus now refers to these as Group Treatments. For qualifying groups, neuromodulator treatments may be incorporated into a private event following individual clinical assessment. Bolus does not perform fillers or laser treatments in the mobile event setting.
What are the risks of wrinkle relaxers?
Potential effects include pain, swelling, bruising, headache, asymmetry, unwanted weakness of nearby muscles, eyelid or brow ptosis, altered smile or other functional changes depending on treatment area. Botulinum toxin products also carry important prescribing warnings, including rare serious systemic effects. Risks, benefits and alternatives are reviewed before treatment.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Bolus Med Spa does not accept or bill insurance for treatments, procedures, products or services. HSA and FSA cards may be accepted when permitted by the patient's plan.
Bolus does not obtain prior authorizations or complete insurance, HSA or FSA reimbursement paperwork. Itemized receipts with appropriate ICD-10 or CPT coding may be provided when applicable. Custom letters, emails, forms or other administrative correspondence are subject to a $50 administrative fee.
