Arctic and Er:YAG resurfacing use a highly precise 2940-nm wavelength to remove a customized depth of the skin's surface. From a light polish to more corrective resurfacing, treatment intensity is selected around what your skin actually needs.
The 2940-nm erbium wavelength is strongly absorbed by water, allowing precise removal of controlled layers of the skin surface with comparatively limited residual thermal effect.

Pigment, redness, collagen loss and surface texture are different problems. They do not always need the same technology.
Er:YAG resurfacing is especially useful when the objective is to physically renew a controlled portion of the skin surface. At lighter levels, the goal may be refinement and polish. As treatment intensity increases, the focus shifts toward more visible texture and established lines.
The goal is not to use the strongest setting possible. It is to use enough treatment to address the concern while balancing correction, healing and downtime.

Choose the correction. Plan for the healing.
As resurfacing intensity increases, visible healing and recovery generally increase with it.
Redness, tightness, dryness, sensitivity and light flaking may occur. Gentle skincare and strict sun protection matter.
Expect more visible healing, dryness and shedding as treatment depth increases.
More intensive resurfacing requires a deliberate recovery period, structured aftercare and closer attention to healing.

3-Treatment Series
A planned series can be useful when resurfacing is part of a broader skin strategy. Treatments within a series do not need to be performed at identical intensity.
A series is a treatment plan—not three identical treatments. Treatment intensity can be adjusted at each visit based on your skin, healing response and evolving goals.
Your overall treatment strategy may also include skincare, pigment-directed treatment, scar-specific procedures, injectables or other technologies when clinically appropriate. Additional services are priced separately unless specifically included.
Private Client pricing does not stack with an additional series discount. Foundation and Elevated series pricing reflects the applicable Private Client treatment price multiplied by three.

Scars are not all the same.
Rolling or tethered scars may need structural release. Selected narrow deep scars may require focal treatment, while broader texture may respond to resurfacing.
Skin quality matters before treatment.
Skincare, pigment stability, sun exposure, barrier health and healing characteristics may influence treatment timing and intensity.
Volume and texture are different problems.
Resurfacing can improve skin quality, but it does not replace lost volume. Selected patients may benefit from injectables or other structural treatment.
Some skin needs more.
Deep wrinkles, complex scarring or greater textural damage may require separately planned advanced resurfacing with different preparation, comfort management, recovery and aftercare.

What is Arctic Refresh?
Arctic Refresh is our lightest Er:YAG resurfacing level. It focuses primarily on polishing and renewing the outermost surface rather than creating deeper structural correction.
What is the difference between Refresh, Restore and Correct?
Refresh focuses on superficial polish, Restore addresses more visible surface texture, and Correct is intended for more established texture and lines. Greater resurfacing intensity generally means greater visible recovery.
Are the micron depths fixed?
No. The micron ranges shown are educational reference ranges, not fixed treatment settings. Actual treatment depth is customized to the treatment area, skin characteristics, clinical findings, healing history and goals.
How much downtime should I expect?
Refresh may involve approximately 1–3 days of visible redness, dryness or flaking, Restore approximately 3–5 days and Correct approximately 5–7 or more days. Individual recovery varies.
Why would I choose Er:YAG instead of MOXI?
MOXI is frequently selected when pigmentation, tone and photodamage are major concerns. Er:YAG may make more sense when physically resurfacing surface texture, roughness or the skin's finish is the greater priority.
Why would I choose Er:YAG instead of CO₂?
Both are ablative resurfacing technologies, but they interact with tissue differently. Er:YAG can provide highly precise surface ablation, while CO₂ may be selected when greater thermal remodeling is an important treatment objective.
Can Er:YAG resurfacing help acne scars?
It can improve selected textural components, but acne scars are heterogeneous. Tethered scars, narrow deep scars, volume loss and broader texture may require different procedures or a combination strategy.
Are three treatments in a series identical?
No. A resurfacing series is a treatment strategy rather than three locked settings. Treatment intensity may change based on response, healing and evolving treatment goals.
Is Er:YAG resurfacing appropriate for every skin tone?
Candidacy is individualized. Skin tone, pigment history, recent sun exposure, medications, previous reactions and proposed treatment intensity all influence treatment planning.
