WHAT IS SCITON® MOXI™ LASER?
Moxi is Sciton’s newest fractionated laser for revitalized skin available now at Bolus Med Spa, Elkridge, Maryland.
Moxi is a quick 12-15 minute treatment with minimal downtime or discomfort. Moxi reduces pigment and improves the skin’s overall tone and texture.
The treatment is perfect if you’re looking to maintain glowing, healthy skin, correct signs of sun damage, melasma, and aging—or simply a great laser treatment to keep your glow on year round!
Moxi is safe for all skin types! Do not sleep on this one. We love Moxi!
What To Expect On The Day of Your Treatment
Moxi is magic for your skin! Arrive 45 mins prior to scheduled appt for numbing cream with a clean face and your hair pulled back. Its best to wear a tank top or shirt that opens from the front. You will be covered during the treatment.
If appropriate we will stack the treatment with BBL, Moxi, and Arctic all in the same setting treating the face and neck.
Day 0-2: light redness after the procedure to last 24-48 hours and a mild sunburn feeling Days 2-5: skin shedding and heeling, sandpaper texture This is called MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris). *Makeup as needed after 24 hours
Days 5-7 you will begin to see that radiant glow. You can work and do your normal thing throughout the healing time.
Activities resume as tolerated.
How long will my results last?
Like anything, it really depends on how well you do your part. We suggest at least two Moxi treatments per year along with medical grade skin care, sun screen, and prescription retinol.
How Much Does Moxi Laser Cost?
The price will vary as each treatment is customized for you and your needs and treatment areas. On average a basic Moxi laser treatment on the face will start at $750.
We customize all Moxi laser treatments and stack with other devices such as BBL and Arctic laser to give you the best resutls possible!!
Keep in mind there are safe start settings, and then there are advanced settings!! Our treatments are superior to anyone in the DMV because of the expertise we have with the laser. We are experts in treating all skin types and provide results!
What to Expect After Your Sciton Moxi Laser Treatment:
Your post-care regimen is simple: Wash and Moisturize your face 2-3x a day. Moisturize and wear a moisturizing physical sunscreen, a large hat, and stay out of the sun. You may wear makeup 24 hours after treatment.
Generally we have found the following products to be safe and effective under most situations, but do consult with your provider first.
- Cetaphil Gentle Facial Cleanser
- Aquaphor
- EltaMD Tinted Mineral Sunscreen
We have everything you need so no need to run around tryign to find these items if you are short on time.
The day after Moxi, your skin may appear red, and, depending on your level of treatment, you may see the small micro dots called “mends” where the laser was applied. As the microzones heal, they will darken and feel rough.
Between days 3 and 5, the mends will slough off, revealing new skin beneath. Wash your skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser. Keep your skin moisturized and apply your favorite physical barrier sunscreen.
