Consistent Medical Care

The person treating you matters.

Laser Hair Removal is not simply choosing a body area and pressing a button. Skin pigmentation, hair caliber, hair color, treatment history, growth pattern and response all influence treatment.

At Bolus, your Laser Hair Removal is performed by Mark Abbott, MSN, FNP, CRNP, a board-certified nurse practitioner.

That means your treatment isn't passed from one technician to another each time you return. Your response can be evaluated over time and your treatment strategy adjusted as appropriate.

“Consistent care means knowing what we treated, how your skin responded and what needs to change at the next visit.”
Mark Abbott, MSN, FNP, CRNP

Your Laser Hair Removal Investment

What is the investment?

Laser Hair Removal is an investment in reducing the time, irritation and repeated maintenance associated with shaving, waxing and managing unwanted hair.

Complete Programs
Investment starting at
$850

Your investment varies according to the anatomical treatment area and program selected.

An investment with a long-term strategy.

Rather than publishing an overwhelming list of every possible treatment combination, we'll provide the investment for the areas you're actually interested in treating.

Individual treatments and 6-treatment Essential Programs may also be available when appropriate.

No obligation. Treatment area, program eligibility and final investment are confirmed before treatment.

The Complete Program

Don't just buy treatments.
Make a long-term investment.

Complete is designed around both your initial treatment series and what may happen years later.

Not every patient needs the same treatment strategy. Complete is our preferred option for patients who want a more comprehensive initial series plus a plan for future maintenance.

Our more comprehensive strategy for patients who want additional treatment opportunities during the initial series and reduced maintenance pricing afterward on qualifying areas.

  • 9-treatment initial series
  • More opportunities across changing growth cycles
  • Access to reduced qualifying maintenance pricing
  • Long-term continuity of care
  • Designed with future hair-growth changes in mind
The Maintenance Difference

You finished your series.
You shouldn't have to start over.

Laser Hair Removal can produce substantial long-term reduction, but bodies continue to change.

Hormonal changes, pregnancy, aging, medications, PMOS / PCOS / Hormones and previously inactive follicles can contribute to new hair growth later—even after an excellent initial result.

Eligible Complete patients receive access to reduced maintenance pricing on qualifying treatment areas instead of automatically purchasing another full treatment package.

Your results aren't necessarily starting over. Neither should your investment.

Why Maintenance Matters

Because life happens after treatment #9.

Great reduction today doesn't mean your biology stops changing tomorrow.

01

Start

Treat the unwanted pigmented hair you have today.

02

Complete × 9

Progress through the initial treatment strategy and successive growth cycles.

03

Life Changes

Pregnancy, PMOS / PCOS / Hormones, medications, aging and other biological changes may influence future hair growth.

04

Maintain

Address qualifying future growth with preferred maintenance pricing instead of automatically purchasing another package.

Treat the hair now. Have a strategy for what happens later.
Laser Hair Removal for Skin of Color

Safe treatment is one thing.
Knowing how to treat your skin is another.

Melanin matters in Laser Hair Removal. More epidermal pigment changes how treatment should be approached and makes appropriate technology, parameters, cooling and clinical judgment especially important.

Bolus has extensive experience caring for patients across a broad range of skin tones and ethnic backgrounds.

Your treatment is individualized according to your actual skin, hair characteristics and response—not simply an ethnicity label or preset protocol.

Experience across diverse skin tones.

Patients seeking Laser Hair Removal at Bolus include individuals with fair skin as well as richly melanated skin.

Black African American African Indian / South Asian Asian Middle Eastern Hispanic / Latino Mixed Ethnicity Fair / Light Skin

Your skin tone should inform the treatment—not automatically exclude you from the conversation.

PMOS / PCOS / Hormones

Sometimes unwanted hair is more than cosmetic.

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), as well as other hormonal and metabolic factors, may contribute to unwanted or increasing hair growth.

Persistent coarse hair involving the chin, jawline, neck, chest, abdomen or other androgen-sensitive areas can sometimes be influenced by an underlying hormonal or metabolic driver.

That doesn't mean every patient with facial hair has a hormonal disorder. It does mean that patterns matter.

Mark's clinical background allows him to recognize when unwanted hair may warrant consideration of additional medical evaluation rather than simply continuing to treat newly developing hair without asking why.

Potential Contributors

The hair can be the symptom—not always the whole problem.

PMOS PCOS Hormonal Imbalances Insulin Resistance Androgen Excess Pregnancy-Related Changes Medication-Related Changes

Laser can reduce appropriate existing pigmented hair. If the biological stimulus for new hair remains active, however, additional follicles may become clinically apparent over time.

That is one reason a long-term maintenance strategy can be especially valuable.

When additional hormonal or metabolic evaluation is appropriate, that care is handled separately from Bolus Med Spa services.

PFB / Ingrown Hairs
Sometimes the goal isn't being completely hairless. It's getting your skin back.

Razor bumps can become a cycle.

Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB) occurs when hairs—often coarse or curved hairs—re-enter or irritate the skin and trigger inflammation.

For some patients, repeated shaving is followed by ingrown hairs, bumps, irritation and dark marks. The beard and neck are particularly common areas.

By reducing appropriate hair growth, Laser Hair Removal may also reduce one of the factors contributing to recurrent razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

This can be particularly relevant for patients with coarse or tightly curled hair and patients with Skin of Color who may also be concerned about post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Gender-Affirming Laser Hair Removal

A comfortable place to receive care.

For many transgender women and gender-diverse patients, reducing facial or body hair can be an important part of feeling more comfortable in their appearance and may form part of a broader gender-affirming care plan.

Bolus regularly cares for transgender patients seeking Laser Hair Removal. Treatment is individualized according to your skin tone, hair characteristics, treatment area, previous treatments and goals.

Hair-growth needs may also evolve alongside hormonal therapy and other changes over time, making an ongoing maintenance strategy particularly valuable for some patients.

No awkward explanations. No judgment. Just individualized medical care.

What to Expect

A treatment series—not a one-and-done procedure.

Laser Hair Removal works progressively. Hair growth, treatment intervals and response vary by anatomical area and individual patient.

01

Shave

Patients are generally asked to shave the treatment area as directed before treatment. Avoid waxing or plucking because the target hair needs to remain associated with the follicle.

02

Treat

The area is treated using technology and parameters selected according to skin, hair and clinical response.

03

Repeat

Additional treatments are scheduled because hair follicles are not all in the same growth phase at the same time.

04

Maintain

After the qualifying Complete series, reduced maintenance pricing is available for eligible future touch-ups.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

The questions we hear every day.

What is the investment for Laser Hair Removal?

Your investment depends primarily on the anatomical area and treatment program. Complete Programs currently start at $850. Rather than making you sort through an extensive price list, submit a pricing request for the areas you're interested in and we'll provide the relevant options.

Why does the Complete Program include 9 treatments?

Hair follicles are not all in the same growth phase simultaneously. Complete provides nine treatment opportunities during the initial series and is designed for patients who want a more comprehensive initial strategy plus access to reduced maintenance pricing afterward on qualifying areas.

Does Complete include free maintenance treatments?

No. Complete includes access to reduced maintenance pricing after completion of the qualifying initial series. Maintenance treatments have an area-specific investment. For example, current qualifying Full Legs maintenance is $100 compared with the regular $750 single-treatment price.

Will Laser Hair Removal permanently remove every hair?

Laser Hair Removal is better understood as long-term hair reduction rather than a guarantee that every hair will disappear forever. Individual response varies, and new growth can occur over time due to biological and hormonal changes. This is one reason Bolus places significant emphasis on maintenance.

Can you treat Black or dark skin?

Bolus has extensive experience treating patients with richly melanated skin. Candidacy, technology and treatment parameters are individualized because skin pigmentation affects how laser energy should be delivered.

Do you treat Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern or mixed-ethnicity skin?

Yes. Bolus regularly treats patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Treatment decisions are based on the patient's actual skin characteristics, pigmentation, hair and clinical response rather than relying solely on an ethnicity label.

Does Laser Hair Removal work if I have PMOS / PCOS?

Yes, appropriate pigmented hair may respond to Laser Hair Removal in patients with Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as PCOS. Ongoing hormonal or metabolic influences, however, may contribute to additional hair developing over time. This makes realistic expectations and a long-term maintenance strategy particularly important.

Can Laser Hair Removal help razor bumps and PFB?

It may. Pseudofolliculitis Barbae can be driven by hairs that curve back toward or re-enter the skin. Reducing appropriate hair growth can reduce one of the contributors to recurrent ingrown hairs and razor bumps in selected patients.

Do you offer Laser Hair Removal for transgender patients?

Yes. Bolus regularly provides facial and body Laser Hair Removal for transgender women and gender-diverse patients. Care is private, respectful and individualized according to your skin, hair, treatment history and goals.

Is a female provider available for Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal at Bolus Med Spa is performed by Mark Abbott, MSN, FNP, CRNP. A female Laser Hair Removal provider is not currently available.

However, a female chaperone can be present during treatment when requested. We understand that privacy and personal comfort can be especially important when treating intimate or sensitive areas.

If you would like a female chaperone present, please let us know when scheduling so we can plan accordingly.

Does Laser Hair Removal work on blonde, gray, white or red hair?

Laser Hair Removal depends on an appropriate target within pigmented hair. Very light blonde, white and gray hairs generally lack sufficient pigment for conventional Laser Hair Removal to work reliably. Red and very light hair can also respond poorly.

Can you treat fine or vellus hair?

Fine or vellus hair may be a poor laser target and treatment is not automatically recommended simply because hair is visible. Hair caliber, color, location, skin type and the risk-benefit profile should be evaluated before treatment.

Should I shave before Laser Hair Removal?

Generally, yes. Follow the preparation instructions provided for your treatment area. Shaving removes surface hair while preserving the follicular target needed for laser treatment.

Can I wax or tweeze between treatments?

Waxing and tweezing remove the hair from the follicle and can interfere with the target needed for Laser Hair Removal. Patients are generally instructed to shave rather than wax or tweeze during the treatment series.

How far apart are treatments?

Treatment intervals vary according to anatomical area, hair-growth pattern and clinical response. Your schedule will be recommended based on the area being treated rather than applying one interval to every body part.

Can I have Laser Hair Removal during pregnancy?

Elective Laser Hair Removal is generally deferred during pregnancy. Treatment can be reconsidered after pregnancy when appropriate. Pregnancy can also change hair-growth patterns, which is another reason long-term maintenance can become useful later.

Do you accept insurance for Laser Hair Removal?

No. Bolus Med Spa does not accept or bill health insurance for Laser Hair Removal, including gender-affirming Laser Hair Removal. Services are private pay.

Do I have to schedule a consultation just to get pricing?

No. If you're primarily looking for your investment, submit a pricing request and tell us which areas you're interested in treating.

If you'd rather discuss your skin, previous treatments, PMOS / PCOS / Hormones, PFB or other concerns directly with Mark, you may also schedule a Laser Hair Removal consultation.
