Sculptra is made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Instead of relying only on an injected gel to create the finished contour, treatment is designed around a progressive tissue response and collagen production.

Clinical data support results lasting up to approximately two years. But facial aging continues during that time. Our philosophy is to complete the initial correction, reassess, and then consider smaller yearly booster treatments when appropriate to nurture the result rather than waiting for everything to fade.
What patients want to know before they commit.
How many Sculptra treatments will I need?
We generally plan 2–3 initial treatment sessions, commonly about 6–8 weeks apart in our practice. Your actual treatment sequence is individualized.
How many vials will I need?
Approximately one vial per decade of life is sometimes used as a starting guideline, but it is not a dosing rule. Anatomy, existing volume, skin quality, prior treatments and your goals determine the actual plan.
When will I see results?
Sculptra is progressive. Clinical study participants have seen visible improvement as early as about one month, with continued change developing over time.
How long does Sculptra last?
Results can last up to approximately two years. We often discuss smaller annual booster treatments after the initial correction because aging and collagen loss continue.
Is Sculptra the same as filler?
No. HA filler gives immediate physical volume and contour. Sculptra is a PLLA biostimulator used for a progressive collagen-focused response and gradual volume restoration.
Can Sculptra be dissolved?
No. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler; it does not dissolve Sculptra. Product selection, placement, patient selection and conservative treatment planning therefore matter.
How much downtime is there after Sculptra?
Very little for most patients. You may look temporarily fuller or puffy for a few days because of the fluid used to prepare and inject Sculptra. That early fullness is not the final result and fades as the fluid is absorbed. Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising can also occur, but most patients return to normal daily activities right away.
What is the aftercare for Sculptra?
Use a cloth-wrapped cold pack or ice intermittently during the first 24 hours to help with swelling and bruising. Do not place ice directly on the skin. We also use the 5-5-5 massage rule: massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. Follow the specific aftercare instructions provided at your visit.
What does Sculptra cost?
Standard pricing is $950 per vial. Foundation Private Clients are $900 per vial and Elevated Private Clients are $800 per vial. Total investment depends on the number of vials in your individualized plan.
