Jeuveau® · Elkridge / Columbia, Maryland

Jeuveau®
with a plan.

Fewer lines. Better balance. Still you.

Jeuveau is a prescription neuromodulator used to temporarily improve moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.

At Bolus Med Spa, the product is only one part of the treatment. Your facial movement, muscle strength, anatomy, previous response and goals determine the treatment strategy.

The Bolus Approach

The medication matters.
So does the person using it.

Jeuveau isn't a commodity treatment pulled off a shelf. It's a prescription medication administered as part of an individualized medical treatment plan.

Product Know what is being injected.
Dose Enough product for the intended treatment strategy.
Placement Anatomy determines where treatment belongs.
Balance Treat the face—not simply a wrinkle.
Not All Toxin Treatments Are Equal

Four things determine the treatment.

The brand name alone doesn't tell you whether a neuromodulator treatment is well designed.

01

Prescription Medication

Jeuveau is prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs, a prescription botulinum toxin type A product.

02

Dose Matters

The dose must be appropriate for the muscles being treated, their strength and the intended clinical result.

03

Technique Matters

Anatomy, placement, reconstitution and administration technique all contribute to a properly designed treatment.

04

Your Face Matters

Treatment should reflect your movement pattern, proportions, previous response and desired degree of movement.

Treatment Strategy

Natural doesn't necessarily mean less.

Natural treatment is about appropriate balance. Treating one isolated muscle group while ignoring everything surrounding it isn't automatically more natural.

Upper Face Focus

The areas most patients recognize first.

≈ 40–65 units

A typical upper-face treatment may involve a customized combination of areas depending on anatomy and goals.

  • Forehead Lines
  • Frown Lines / 11s
  • Brow Positioning
  • Crow's Feet when appropriate
Advanced Facial Balancing

Go beyond the 11s.

Neuromodulators can be used strategically throughout the face and neck when clinically appropriate.

  • Forehead + Frown Lines
  • Brow Support
  • Crow's Feet
  • Lower Eyelid
  • Bunny Lines
  • Lip Flip
  • DAO / Downturned Mouth
  • Chin / Mentalis
  • Platysma + Neck
Important: Jeuveau's FDA-approved cosmetic indication is moderate-to-severe glabellar lines in adults. Treatment of other facial or neck areas with Jeuveau is off-label and may be considered by a qualified clinician when medically appropriate.
Facial Balance

Treating less isn't always what looks most natural.

Your facial muscles don't move independently of one another. They interact.

Treating only one portion of a highly expressive face may sometimes leave untreated muscles moving strongly beside muscles that have been intentionally weakened.

The goal isn't automatically to treat more. The goal is to determine which muscles contribute to the concern and create an appropriate treatment plan.

“Natural” should describe how the result looks—not how few areas were treated.

A note about Dysport®: Dysport uses its own product-specific potency units and should not be compared unit-for-unit with Botox®, Jeuveau®, or Xeomin®. When Dysport is selected, treatment quantity and pricing are calculated according to the appropriate Dysport dose rather than assuming that one Dysport unit equals one Botox-equivalent unit.
Jeuveau vs. Botox

They're both botulinum toxin type A.
They're not the same product.

Jeuveau contains prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs. Botox Cosmetic contains onabotulinumtoxinA.

Botulinum toxin potency units are product-specific. Jeuveau units should not simply be assumed to represent the same potency units used by another botulinum toxin product.

That's why “How many units did you get somewhere else?” is only the beginning of the conversation.

What we actually want to know.

What product did you receive?
Different botulinum toxin products use product-specific potency units.

How much was used?
Dose is an important part of understanding a previous treatment.

What areas were treated?
“50 units” means very little without knowing where they went.

How did you respond?
Onset, movement, symmetry, satisfaction and duration all help inform the next treatment.

Your Injector

Consistency matters.

Mark Abbott, MSN, FNP, CRNP

Neuromodulator treatments at Bolus Med Spa are performed by Mark Abbott, a board-certified nurse practitioner.

The advantage of consistent care is simple: your previous dose, treatment pattern, facial response and preferences can inform what happens at the next visit.

The objective isn't to perform the same injection pattern on every patient. It's to learn your face over time.

Prescription Treatment

Aesthetic doesn't mean risk-free.

Jeuveau is a prescription medication. Appropriate patient selection, medical history, anatomy, dosing and administration matter.

Important Jeuveau Safety Information

Jeuveau carries an FDA Boxed Warning regarding distant spread of botulinum toxin effect.

Effects may spread from the injection area and produce symptoms consistent with botulinum toxin effects hours to weeks after injection. Swallowing and breathing difficulties can be life-threatening, and deaths have been reported.

Patients should seek immediate medical attention for difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing.

Other contraindications, warnings, precautions, adverse reactions and drug interactions apply.

Jeuveau FAQ

Questions before treatment?

What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is a prescription botulinum toxin type A product used for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar lines, often called frown lines or the “11s,” in adults.

Is Jeuveau the same as Botox?

No. Both are botulinum toxin type A products, but they are different prescription medications. Jeuveau contains prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs while Botox Cosmetic contains onabotulinumtoxinA.

How much does Jeuveau cost at Bolus?

Standard public pricing is $15 per Botox-equivalent unit. Foundation Private Clients receive preferred pricing of $10 per unit, while Elevated Private Clients receive our preferred $9-per-unit neurotoxin pricing. Dysport uses product-specific units and is calculated differently.

How many units of Jeuveau do I need?

There is no single cosmetic dose appropriate for every patient or treatment plan. Anatomy, muscle strength, treatment areas, previous response and desired movement all matter.

Can Jeuveau be used for the forehead or crow's feet?

Jeuveau's FDA-approved cosmetic indication is glabellar lines. Clinicians may use prescription medications off-label in other areas when clinically appropriate after discussing the treatment, alternatives and relevant risks with the patient.

How long does Jeuveau last?

Duration varies among patients and may be influenced by treatment area, dose, muscle activity, previous treatment history and individual response. We evaluate how you respond and use that information when planning future treatment.

Will Jeuveau make me look frozen?

Not necessarily. The amount of movement retained is part of your treatment plan. Some patients prefer substantial movement reduction while others prefer more expression.

Who performs Jeuveau treatments at Bolus?
